2nd grade?? Gender discrimination?? Get a life!!

A few days ago, i was conversing online with a uni friend. She asked me:

Fren: How's ur driving?

me: Like that lor.. Dont' really get to drive anyway.

Fren: Aiyo, why like that ah?

me: I dunno.. anyway i don't want to care about it anymore lah.. Don't wanna waste time on such things, as to why i can't drive.

[Fyi if u are a new reader of my blog, i got my class 3A driving license on 27.6.2005, so i can drive ok]

Fren: Aiyo, why ur parents so bias one?

me: I dunno... maybe because girls are not carrying the family line? Sons are, that's y my brother holds the car keys? Anyway, i'll wait till i get my own car.

ok.. the rest of the conversation i shall not put it in before anyone [male or female or whatever] condemns me. But if u are a ardent reader of my blog, i think you should have know i do feel like a 2nd grade.

I don't see anything wrong with being a female. But in this modern world, we cannot deny that there are ppl who are still very traditional. Eg, just take the son and a daughter in the olden times.. If the first child is a girl, and if the parents can't afford to have too many children, what do they do? They cast the child away, leaving her to die... so that when they try again for a 2nd child and it is actually a boy, then that will stop.

that is in the past of course.

But of course, there are times where that maybe the family is kinder, and they can afford more children. Then they try and try until they have a son: why? to pass on the family line. Girls to such traditional families are considered huo4 shui3.. why because they will help their husband's family pass on the next line.

Gender discrimination is very hurtful, i tell you.. from the feminine point of view. I guess if you are the only child [female], you might not feel it. I do, and i have experienced, and i empathize. U can see that usually my postings are all very nice.. complain about my driving blah blah blah.. but today i decided to stand up for the female population, because i think i am starting to be intolerant towards this kind of discrimination!!!

Crawford B.L. [online] says that "This problem is so widespread that every woman will at some point in her life experience some sort of discrimination based solely upon her gender. Women continue to face discrimination in the workplace where even today a woman with the same skill level as that of a man will earn but two-thirds of his salary. Women of color face an even more dismal fate because they are discriminated against for being minorities as well as women. Women also face discrimination in the academic arena....Work that women perform in the home is often downplayed as being of little importance in the grand scheme of things. Women have been historically required to stay at home and manage the "simple" tasks such as the preparation of meals and the rearing of children."

We are already in the 21st century... So men, if u are reading this, pls be kinder to us, the female gender.. think about it. Is it fair to us??? Huh??? Without the female population, would u men exist??

GIVE US THE RESPECT AND THE EQUALITY DUE TO US!!
