Interesting stuff

I hasn't been blogging because i was pretty tired and pong-ed after reaching home. But i've many interesting things (to me) that i want to share about. And, thankfully, there wasn't anymore tremors.

1) MIO Commercials
This is a new product by Singtel. Think if i'm not wrong, it came out only in January. It's quite an interesting thing.

Let's recap....

Commercial #1
1) Man comes home with a box.
2) Man goes into the room
3) The equipment of handphone, telephone and laptop comes to life and starts talking

Handphone: Wha... who's this?

4) All came closer to have a look, when the box came off and revealed a slim white machine that looked like a modem

Mio: Hello!! I'm MIOOOOO......

Commercial #2
1)Lady owner comes back and places the HP on the shelf, and went into her room.
2) HP sprangs into life and 'walked' over to the table and started to talk to MIO.

HP: Let's have a chat

MIO: Sure, we can chat the whole night long

Laptop to telephone: This guy's up to his sleeves again. Still want to talk the whole night long.

4) Suddenly the HP rang, and every equipment stood still. The lady owner walked to the shelf to get the phone, and was perturbed to find the HP on the table instead.

Commercial #3 (Latest)
1) A pink color piggy bank in the shape of a pig is falling down the table.
2) Mio was giving directions on how to stop the pig from falling
3) Telephone tried to rescue it by typing its phone cords to prevent it from falling to the floor
4) HP tries to stop it from fall
5) Mio 'screams' when the pig fell
6) But there wasn't any breakage.
7) Turn out that the laptop shield its fall

Interesting isn't it. I find this commercial to be really cool. Though the 3rd one is IMHO a different message altogether, but it's really nice.

Commercial #1 and #2 is to whet up consumers interest in MIO the product. Because it's a new thing. And this #3 commercial is what i saw this morning. And the hidden message in this is: It will bring savings to use MIO.

2) Comfort cabs
I'm referring to the blue color Comfort Cabs. Recently i saw something that's really quite interesting, and it's not a very often sight. U know, Comfort Cabs are mostly Toyota Corolla, Toyota bla bla bla.... But there was a day when i was on the way to work. I was walking across Bencoolen Street when i saw a weird looking Cab. It's Comfort Cab alright, but the shape is really perculiar. It looks like a Hyundai, and on closer look, i saw the Hyundai sign.

It was really a Hyundai Comfort Cab!

And since then, whenever i was travelling, i will take a closer look at blue color Comfort Cabs. And it's really not often that i see Hyundai Comfort Cabs.

So if you are on the road, do take a closer look at Blue color Cabs, to see whether if it's a Hyundai or not. I guess out of 10 cabs you see, the probability of it being a Hyundai should be about 1.

I've got another book from the Library, and it's about Hiring and Keeping IT professionals.

For this book, as it's quite specialized, not general, there will not be any book reviews for it. But generally, it's quite a read, but dry.

I hope to be able to get in better IT ppl for e9 after reading this book, esp the season of recruitment is quite in-the-face now. So, i need to be more equipped so that i can get the best ppl into the company.
