Motivation to walk under the sunshine again

It was about 2 to 3 entries ago that i was ranting about why i didn't get any voucher from M1, as i have been a consistent user. U know, i never even used Singtel or Starhub fixed HP line before. My first HP at 9767**** was a Samsung CDMA phone. Then it was followed by 9749**** which i was using a Nokia 6110. Then i was told to recycle my brother's line (for some biazzare reason) at 9877****, which for that i got a 3210. Finally, when i finally can get my own line, i got myself a 6110, which is my current line at 9699****. With this line, i continued with phones such as, 8210, Samsung E600. I renewed with my IDIOTIC oxygen phone in 2005, still under the same line.

But, during these season, no voucher came. And come to think of it, it has been since 2002 that i got this line. And always an M1 user. But i don't qualify for sunperks because i'm not like a crazy-phone porridge cooker! And the oxygen phone was really dying on me, i was literally DYING to get a new phone.

Last week, my entry was spurred seriously because i think i deserve a voucher for being a loyal customer, and to my disappointment, i wasn't entitled to a voucher!

After that call, i was really quite pissed. Why? Being a loyal customer means nothing?
Huh?!

Initially i was so angry that i seriously thought about changing my service provider. Ms C did that to her ex-service provider. But then, i weighed out the pros and the cons. The only pro is that i get to experience another service provider, but it's a question mark if it's going to serve me well. And maybe the phone is cheaper? The con is that i have to inform the rest of the world that i'm changing number. I mean, i'm not inclined to do a line retention thingy lah. Whatever it is, I need a phone lah.

So, i wasn't really expecting anything. Nothing at all! But a call that came changed everything. I got a call from a guy who was checking out if i'm going to upgrade my phone or anything. So i wasn't like excited. Just feeling normal. I told him that yes i'm going to change. But i indicated that i'm sorely disappointed with M1 and thinking of changing service provider, with no proper reward systems for loyal customers so on and so forth.

He said that i am entitled to a voucher for completing my 20 month plan, and that i can use that to purchase my phone. What was more exciting is that it can be delivered to my house, and i can pay in cash. Sounds interesting. But a bit dubious you say. To mark his sincerity, he left his number with me, and told me that when i'm ready to purchase, i can give him a call back and indicate the model that i want. This week's discount is if i were to buy my SE 850I this week, it will cost me $168 after the voucher which is $150, in addition to online purchases.

There is just one more thing. I don't have $168 now. But, i will have end of next week.

Ah, Sweet! Finally got what i really deserved. And with this voucher for me to purchase my phone, i can save a bit more money. Praise the Lord.

1 more week of stupid oxygen phone, and mediocre pictures, and lousy keypads and totally-insensitive joystick. I shall be patient. I've waited so long for this day to come. 1 more week is nothing.

Tasting the sweet victory!

*Argh, need to master HTML fast.... this entry is done partially on html. I can't change the colors as i want to as i've manually inserted the codes. Dull for now!
