Nick Vujicic came to share his testimony at church this weekend. Though we were 'pre-empted' about this speaker last 2 weeks, but it's really quite amazing to hear him speak. This is the first time i've known of such a person, born without limbs. I remembered when i was in primary school, there was a story in the English textbook about a man born without hands, and he learnt to write with his legs. So it's in a way, kinda hard to relate for me, like... how did he live his life?
At the start of the sermon, we were shown an 8 minute video of his testimony, about how his parents were devastated at their first born's plight and how he would live his life. And man, i tell u. This guy's a really tough guy. He didn't exactly take it very positively, but he knew that he's different. He was teased in School lotsa, but yet, there are people who stand by him and support him. And though with his disability, he lived life as if he has a complete life.. swimming and diving (not a lot of ppl dared to dive...), horse-riding, play golf and soccer. Yes, no arms! But he did it!
The DVD really shown of how, a person despite without limbs, and yet, he lived his life to the fullest. And hearing him speak, you will really really like him lots. He's so positive and funny, and there's power when he speaks. Can tell that he's not at all bitter about his handicap, esp when he call laugh about it... the various jokes about him breaking his arm if he falls. And saying that his only foot with 2 toes are his 'chicken leg'. A real amazing person.
But beyond that, he's a real thankful person, who knows his purpose of him to be without limbs, that Christ may be glorified. And he's so positive (did i mention that earlier?), and his positivity is contagious. I mean, LOOK! It's so sad that people want to commit suicide because of a failed relationship. But, look at Nick! He didn't have arms and legs, but he's living his life to the fullest. Or for whatever reason that a person feels like everything is over, but what about this man, without hands and legs? He has so much to live for, despite his handicap. And he's NOT ASHAMED of it, ok!
So YOU OUT THERE! If you happen to be reading this when you are at the valley of the shadow of death, trust God, just like what Nick did. If GOD can bring him through, and turn his life to be positive against all odds, i'm sure your life will turn around for the better!
