That's for another entry.
Yesterday, after service, Neo drove us supposedly to Orchard, and somehow or rather, we ended up at this place called Kelantan Road. It's a very ulu place where there's a flea market.
Yes, a Flea Market.
Not forgetting about food, we stopped at a big coffeeshop that sells good Laksa, and my oh my, it's really good. It comes in 2 different portions:
- Small bowl at $2
- Big bowl at $3
And, no chopstick required. Yum!
One thing disturbs me though. We were sitting quite near to the toilets, and i noticed the entrance had this cardboard make-shift sign board that says:
Those that are not customers of the coffee shop, pay 10 cents for entering the toilet
And, there's a small pail supposedly for collecting the money.
!!!!!
Who would in the world, know who's a/not a customer of the coffeeshop since so many people buzz through?!
I asked the rest, and all agreed with me that, there's won't be a lot (maybe not even one pathetic soul) of people who are honest-to-goodness to throw in a 10 cents for using the toilet.
I think the coffeeshop owner is also one joker. Most coffee-shops allow for free usage. This particular toilet is not layered with a layer of pearls on the flooring. It's passable, except for that distinctive shh-shh smell that you will find in the toilets.
I suddenly find myself that i'd rather pay RM 0.20 to visit the toilets in Malaysia. Though also no toilet paper, but got crass.
*Bleah
Talking about the flea market, it's a hot and smell journey. But quite an eye opener, i must say. They even have the big big music disc still lying around. Not forgetting dusty and useless bags lying on the floor waiting to be bought.... like they would get themselves elsewhere.
But, amazing things that i noticed:
- Crystal phone casing (ie. SE850I), can cost as low as $2, where i buy that for $5 which is considered a cheap-cheap price
- Handphones in full package with warranty card (this is what Neo told me. Dunno if it's really true)
- The crowds. Really leh. Though bangalas do make the majority, but i think there are people who want to get a taste (literally) of a flea market, also flock there.
Quite an amazing place of 'interest' away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Why, Bugis' like 15 mins away, though Sim Lim Tower is within its landscape. But i won't want to visit it again, not in a long long while.
