Yes, i've anticipated for it definitely. About 3 weeks back, i submitted an application to apply for this card.
This called the CapitaCard. The name has explicitly explain what is this card for.
You do get the drift right?
Just in case: UOB Lady's card, is apparently only applied by ladies. ESSO card is by car owners yahdah yahdah.
So this card is like linked to Capital-Owned Malls. So if you are a SMART shopper as yours truly, then maybe this card is for you!
Before i go on, these are the shopping centers that are managed under Capitaland Retail:
- Bugis Junction
- Plaza Singapura
- Funan Digital Life Mall
- Junction 8
- IMM (Woohoo Jurong!)
- Jurong Entertainment Center (a bit 鸟不生蛋 place, but still in Jurong!!)
- Lot 1 (My mummy's fav place)
- Tampines Mall (well... i'm at JW, not Expo Hall 8)
- Rivervale Mall
- Sembawang Shopping Center
- Bukit Panjang Plaza
This card is issued under DBS Bank.
So as u know la, my office's situated in the Middle (Road) of Singapore, so there are 2 happening malls that i will visit very very often (even though i try not to), and will definitely have to pass through them; Bugis Junction and Plaza Singapura.I pass by Bugis Junction EVERY MORNING when i go to work, not to forget my gym's there too. So whether if i can help it, i end up there.
And to me, it does make sense to get this card, since i do buy quite a lot of things from there.
And they are not like kuchi-kurak malls la. Over the years, PS and Bugis has been evolving externally and internally continually. PS has become more happening, more shops. Bugis too, though they change a bit tad too quickly at times and a bit disturbing (give us our shopping EDGE). But overall, there's been good improvement. I love having Carrefour and Daiso (Oh hoho.. there's a GIANT Daiso at IMM *woohoo)
Oh, and yes, IMM also evolved big-time for the positive, though sad to say nothing's done about their shuttle bus efficiency *sigh*. I love having to find so many things at one location - one stop shop for everything - Esprit, Body Shop, GIANT Supermarket, Daiso, and all the food there. Man, it's bliss when u just stick yourself in one place and get everything u need. :) Just that i have to wait loooooooong for the bus when i go home. Erm i dont' have to pay a single cent to go there from home, as the shuttle bus stops at West Coast Market. Aiya i'm typical Singaporean, also a bit 贪小便宜.
I have activated my card today, so i'm pretty excited. And it looks good in my wallet, especially since it's purple - my favorite color!
My plan is - when i do my purchases at these places, i'll keep my Smartcard, and flash the Capitacard. Either i get cash rebate (ranging from 2% to 10%) and/or earning of capita$ (it's like u earn points with purchase). Since i have it, i'll maximize it.
I LOVE IT that it's purple in color. Hahahaha.
So, if you are like me, totally surrounded by Capitaland Malls, wherever you are, it's good to get a card. U can read more details about this card here .
The real deal? U can choose between having a credit card (which u MUST have an annual income of minimal $30,000), or like me, still some distance from there, a Debit Card. To sweeten it further, I have this card linked with my POSB account, so whatever that i spend, is what i have in my bank account.
Furthermore, i can also double it up as my ATM card.
Atas-looking card, with the ability to get you access to cash fast (at POSB/DBS ATMs islandwide), prudent shoppers will definitely go for it.
I did. What about you?
