And yes, u are looking at the correct date.
According to GMT +8, Singapore is dated right now, 8th March 2009. Today is International Women's Day.
Even though we are living in a though-it-looks-like-we-women-are-getting-it-but-still-it's-a-male-dominated society, there are times where we women will feel that why why why?? Why are there still gender discrimination out there?
Have u ever wonder, esp in recent times, why does some pregnant women get the pink slip as soon as their employers know that they are knocked-up? And it's not like 1 case per year; it gets more and more prominent. Until the MOM has to somehow step up to get some measures to protect them.
And not forgetting the fact that female children are lesser-than-favored than the male children, especially in the traditional Chinese family. The boys gets the best, and the girls gets the mediocre...
But ladies!! I wanna let u know today, that we should be proud that we are of this feminine gender. Let me tell u why:
a) We female are more feeling-centric.
And when we are emotional, we release through tears and rants (yay!!), and we feel peace at heart. As for the men, they had to act cool, and all the emotions are locked within their hearts and where it couldn't be released, they become sick in the body. (Eh, that's why their lifespan is lesser than a female?). Beyond that, our sensitiveness also helps us to know when we should or should not do things.
Let's face it la. SNAGS are not that common among us. Many of the guys around us are insensitive, and overly-assertive/pushy/lording/unreasonable.
Besides this, it's so easy for us to be deciphered. All our emotions are shown on our faces. Which is for the good and for the bad.So men, u have an advantage here. We women don't like to hide our emotions. So u will definitely know how to pacify us. Haha...
For the bad, women will exercise their revenge openly. See point 2 about vengful women against their eye-prying husbands.
b) We are well-behave, articulate....
I have to disclaim: Not all the girls are that well-behaved. Even if those that are badly-behaved, it is probably induced by the factors of environment, discrimination, being looked down. And when this happens, SCRAM. Because as emotional creatures, we tend to be more explosive than a male. (Remember examples of castrations to males who betrayed their spouses.. but those are rather extreme cases)
But if woman are loved the way they should be loved, they will love back their families, their men even more.
c) We are closer to our family
In continuation to our first point, girls are more homely. They will try to help with housework more than the boys. And i think i don't need to elaborate this point, because this is THE truth, whether if the boys like it or not.
We girls will want to spend more time talking and communicating with our parents. And at some measure, though our parents may not openly appreciate this, but get this, they do!
d) We are the only species who can reproduce!
Now, though i've never given birth, but we women are the only species besides the man who can reproduce! And that's something proud ok. Like u can't have a male-male produce something, with the exception of disgust-and-creepiness. And men will never experience having a life growing within (and i'm not referring to some foreign growth such as a tumour) and continuing life outside of it.
This is only reserved for us, the females!
There are many other points that i hasn't thought of. But what i want to drive through is this:
Never despise your feminity. It is a gift from God. Just simply embrace womenhood!
