As u know, i work in Jurong Port Road. And seriously, the food i eat there is the same everywhere within the area.
杂菜贩。。。杂菜贩。。。杂菜贩
Nothing wrong about 杂菜贩, really. But at times, when u eat the same time for EVERY OTHER MEAL, u really want to eat something that’s really different.
Anyway, my first encounter with this Prata Joint at Jurong Point, was when i was having 1 hour in-between preparing my kiddos’ for exams. And i was just randomly looking around, trying to find a place to eat, amist the huge crowd at JP2. And at one of the entrances, i saw a Prata shop.
Seriously, i’ve been quite curious about this shop. It has a sizeable crowd of people and seem to be 24 hours. But of course, being cynical, i’ll just think it’s just because it’s a new start-up (at that time). And with the time tickling away, and there were some seats inside, i went in and sat down. And that was the start of my many more visits, and where i brought frens like Weiying and Mic to eat there.
Though their pratas are good, but i love their Naans!
Oh, for a start, i ordered at the counter for food, and paid on the spot, and i was given this thing.
This is a pager….. CHILDREN, REPEAT AFTER ME…. THIS IS A PAGER!!!
A food pager that is.
On my very first trip there, i was wondering what i should do with this. I would think: would it scream like “Your xxx prata is ready!!!!!!” or it will buzz like my alarm clock.
Very dramatic, i know. Anyway, like a pager on silent mode, it just tremble vibrate, with lights and all.
This means that, my food is ready, and i can go and collect my food. =)
And for this particular event, i order my favorite GARLIC NAAN.
Looking at the picture, makes my mind think about the aroma of the garlic, and how soft the bread is…… I like the way it is presented. Actually, the pail bowl allows for it to ‘stand’ nicely and to ensure that the naan is properly aired, where its aroma is constantly tantalizing the consumers’ nostrils (ok, the last sentence is just my crapping…)
And the daal curry complements the naan so well. And it’s so nice, for a vegetarian dish. =)
And their pratas are also very good, esp with the curry. Yumyum!!!
Wanna feast on very sumptious pratas, naans and other Indian food?
