A STAR-ry night at Emerge 2006

Today's Emerge was really an eye opener, what i really call a breakthrough.

1st night was normal with all the Parade of Schools and all the excitement that is burstling from all the youths from all the sectors, namely the JC/CI, SIM/SMU, NTU, NUS, East, West, North, South, ITE, SP, NYP, NP, TRP (Temasek and Republic Polytechnic). It was really exciting. 2 of the clusters has taken on to a common favorite; Jay Chou's 霍元甲 .... that part that goes "霍 x 8". It's really impressive. Funniest part was that because this word's hanyupinyin is huo4. So the 2 clusters change the word to mean these: 活(live), 火(fire) and even 我(me), though the last one is not an exact match. Very entertaining and very atmosphere building.

Today is the 2nd night. There was the Arm Wrestling Semi Finals. It's really going by raw strength. And we even had our own Pastors, Pst Chee Kiang and Pst Derek doing a trial on this arm wrestling. Pretty interesting.

What's really the breakthrough thingy: When Pst Aries and Sis Ariel came to introduce a special performer, i thought that it was Sun. It turned out to be Kelly Poon of Project Superstar! Hong Junyang of PSS also came. Both sang one song, and then encouraged the youths to pursue their dreams. What really takes the cake was the appearance of Singapore Idol Winner Taufik Bautisa ! He sang 2 songs. Wow... Never in our minds that we will see them in Church!

Though initially i was like.. "Eh...." But then the Church of the Living God should be funky, it should be full of excitement. I remembered what Pst said. Though the avenue is not conventional, but the message of the gospel is there. Very true, very true! I believe there will be greater things to expect.

Tml i will step out into the unknown. I have decided to take up class 2B. May it be a worthy investment, as compared to the $2,800 i have thrown into the drain. And the most beautiful thing is, the enrolment fees is like half of what i paid for Class 3A. And the Practical sessions are like half-ed too. Except need 2 theory papers. What i set in my heart, i want to do it.

I procrastinated for 6 years on a Class 3. I don't wish to procrastinate any longer on this one. Because i know if i hesitated, i think 2 years down the road, i'm still thinking. Anyway, i want to get the license first, then decide if i really wanna get a scooter. Also it's good that i will show-hand when i get the license. Because, i guess i will treasure it even more, rather than 要来伸手，饭来张口.

I will slowly budget and save up for lessons. Probably i'll do one week night and one weekend (Saturdays). I will do my theory first, and see how it goes.
