The importance of Prayer

This whole weekend is simply an amazing weekend for me. It's a week of lotsa testings and trials. But i believe that whatever that does not break me, will make me stronger. And indeed my faith in God is strengthened even more.

This week is Pst Phil!!! And this weekend is also the week where the total amount that we are gonna raise for the Arise and Build is going to be revealed.

I thank God that it's been really amazing. And it makes me, though being in lack, it is really worth it to give to God's house, emptying my bank account and putting ALL my trust in Him.

CHC target to raise $17 million for our 2nd Arise and Build, to build God a house, in the Marketplace, for the Marketplace, to penetrate the Marketplace, to bring Christ into every social order. Kristo Kai Kosmos!!!

Before revealing the amount, we were watching the A&B video... then, at the last part, it came up to $20 million in total pledges. I was so touched at that point, and i really want to fulfil what i have pledged. Then Pst came up, and said that, it's not the latest amount. Then a new slide came up. We have pledged up to $22 million!!! Praise be to God!!!

The word
These 2 days, i seemed to be going through a roller-coaster whenever Pst Phil preaches. Because everything is so timely for me, it's such at exciting time. I'm not ashamed to say that he's my favorite preacher. Won't miss hearing him!!

The topic happened to be on prayer, which i'm in lack of, and need to tab to God even more. Yes, i need to connect to Him even more. It's because i've failed to pray, that i couldn't sense Him much, and that all the faithless-proclaimations came about...

Day 1
In Luke 11:1-2, the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray. They never asked Jesus to teach them to heal or to preach, but to pray.

Learning how to pray is the key to salvation. When we first come to Christ, we say the sinner's prayer.

Prayer is the universal language. It is the breathing of heaven's air. And it's because of prayer, that our spirits live. Without our 'air', without prayer, we become carnal, and rely on the flesh to achieve what we want. And thus, it leads to burning out in the spirit.

Jas 5:16 The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much

2 things to pray effectively
a) Pray through ==> Breakthrough has to come
- In the OT, Elijah gave himself to prayer until he hears the sound of victory
-The key to it is persistence, and not to give up.
-The secret of our strength is prayer! Our prayer is the key to not falling (see, this is where i've failed.. that's why i fell.)

b) Pray in faith
Rom 10:17 Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God
-There is no pleasure to God other than we trust Him. There is no pleasure to God when we doubt Him (God, i'm sorry to have doubt you..... i'll learn to trust You. Help me Holy Spirit)
2 Tim 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind.

Day 2
Heb 11:6 Without faith, it is impossible to please God...

There is no doubt, that prayer is the basic path of our Christian life. Our prayer life is our spirit breathing.

The Lord's prayer focus on God on the first 5 points.

a) Our Father in Heaven
'Our' is unity, in one accord, in symphony.

The place of agreement is the place of power.

b) Who is in Heaven
In both the OT and NT, the saints drew near to God in the same way. No difference.

Repentence is the doorway to salvation.
Faith is the living room in which we live out our Christian life.

c) Hallowed be Thy Name
Keeping God's name famous, keeping His reputation. In truth, and nothing but the truth. Hallowing the reputation of God.

There are times where the devil will attempt to stop His people from Hallowing His name.

d) Thy kingdom come
e) Thy will be done.

*****

All in all, the message is very timely for me. I wanna seek God even more than ever. I want to pray to Him, not about my needs. It's never about me.... it's more of Him and less of me.

Take all of me
I give You my all for all of You
Move in Your power
Open the heavens Lord Today
Take all of me
Make us You light for all to see
Change this world within me
Let Your harvest in
