I want to move on la, despite feeling stressed over the issue. Gonna pray and trust GOD for a miracle to happen.
Before this blog become a really complainy blog where it only tells of all my moanings, groaning, and complaints, i better blog more. Realizing that, though i said that i'm not really blogging that much, but this is the ... 14th? entry of the month!
Lust, Cautious
On Tuesday, i went to watch this movie with Ivy (Tuesday i was still recovering from PMS... have to give gym a miss). Well, it's an arthouse film, which is something that i'm not really very familiar with, and the story is really about the Japanese Occupation and how a group of students worked to try to assasinate the traitor, which was played by Tony Leung.
Reviews were very good from various magazines, and of course tabloids about why Tang Wei was really meant for this role (which i'm not going into details. Read about it on your own) and this film being made by the internationally acclaimed Film Director, Lee Ang .
Different people view the show differently. Ivy totally couldn't not get the show, and deemed the show to be lousy (seems she prefers Mr Woodcock over it). For me, i do have a different view of this show, though, if i were to watch Mr Woodcock i might enjoy it more. Woodcock by its name sounds crappy enough.
Thoughts on the show
My studying of 4 years of history (and i proudly claim that i got F9 for it in the O levels =p) didn't help me at all to understand this show.
IF you are someone who enjoys history, you might not really be able to understand the show, after all.
This show is about how a group of patriotic young people, want to do a part for the country by trying to kill off a traitor, with experience in their acting, which became a show that cannot be NG-ed (only death is the result, no samu-laaa). And how it can lapse for 3 years and continue the show, where the act became real, and how it showed the weakness of women for diamonds (TW betrayed her patriotic group because of it *i'm not going to bring out a spoiler here).
Generally, the show is quite a deep show, need to think through to understand the show better. The only thing that i have to comment is Wang Lee-Hom. He still seem a bit extra..., probably due to his American Chinese slang which looks very out of place in 1940s China/HK. And his looks are too 'clean' to look like people who are going through tough times in war-clad China.
I've had comments from people who rather watch the uncut version... have to go e.g China. That film will become R(A) rated la, since the stuff that was cut was really horny stuff that is between TL and TW.
Other things
It's very out of flow based on the nature of my entry here, but, 2nd December, my cg is going back to Jurong West! Ya-hoo!!?!!
