Goal Setting 2009: Emotion and psychological growth

We are made up of 3 parts:
-Spirit - our faith
-Soul - Our Emotions and thinking
-Body - our flesh

So, besides having a spiritual and a health goal, there also is a need to be healthy in the mind department, i.e our emotions.

To me, emotions are like fire: They are good, but they must be controlled (tame).

God gave people emotions, so that they can feel : happy, sad, angry etc. But, this is not suppose to dominate all other areas of our being.

So so so, i need to set emotion goals for myself this year.
[This is not an easy entry to pen down, i must say]

SMARTER GoalsEmotions
Specific GoalNot to think too deeply (which i have the tendency to think negatively)
Not to worry too much
Measurement of successWhen not-so-good things happen, i won't delve too deep into it
Action PlanWhen things happen, just share with peers/leaders
Distract myself from thinking about negative stuff
RealisticYes
Time Taken9 months
Expectation ManagementWhen it just happen that there's no one at that point in time
that i can share with
RevelationMatt 6:25
“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life
—whether you have enough food and drink,
or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food,
and your body more than clothing?"

Really not something easy, esp if it's something deep within. But i wanna get out of worrying and thinking negatively about my finances. Esp this season, with BF and still thinking of how to raise money for SOT.

Think... think ... think POSITIVE +++

Something in addition to encourage myself regarding this worry, i need to meditate over these verses even more:

Ps 23: 1 The Lord is my shepherd;I have all that I need [Amen! God will meet my need]

Isa 65:24 I will answer them before they even call to me.While they are still talking about their needs,I will go ahead and answer their prayers! [God knows even before we start to ask Him]

Matt 6:33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

2 Cor 9:8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

Phil 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Phil 4:19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Col 1:11 We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, [Yes, i need the endurance to plough through during SOT]

Heb 4:16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

When we meditate on the word, we remember what the word of God says, and know that God is our Jehovah Jireh. He will always provide.

Though i hasn't seen any movement yet, but i know that God will come through for me [based on my personal track record, He's never early, never late, but just right on time!] =)

Man, it seems that i've just finished writing a sermon on faith and trusting God! Hehehe....
