I'm a S-C Personality

As i was saying yesterday, that i was attending this seminar, which was organized by the Church. I'm very interested in the area of counseling, so i signed up for it.

This counseling session is gonna take about 1 year to complete. Because the modules are split up by months of one another. Since i've finished module 1, my next module will actually be in May and June, and the finale in November. But i'm so glad that i managed to go for the seminar, because Sister Joy Dyson is really very good.

This first module is about the DISC personality, which i'm sure everyone would have done it at least once. But doing this module, and being the first module, it showed some importance of why we must know and identify what personality types people are, esp those who are receiving counseling. And i did continue to affirm what type of person i am.

How do we know what personality we have? By doing the personality test. And this is my graph.

Based on the graph above, my highest is S, followed by C and I and D. My S and C is above the bold line, which shows that i'm high in these 2, that's why i'm a S-C.

According to the personality profile, SC displays a characteristic of a Peacemaker. And i tell u, they are so so so so accurate!
-Peacemkaers exhibit a kind nature that is also very detail orientated. (so true)
-They want a steady environment which promotes security (yeah. I think S people are rather insecure)
-Usually they like to think issue through carefully, weighing how a decision will affect people. (Super duper true, since i had to make decisions affecting my life in the earlier part of January)
-They feel uneasy when put in a situation where they feel deserted, or when forced to make a quick decision; especially if their decision will affect others. (Very true)
-Peacemakers like people, but prefer to only have a few close friends. Given a choice, they would choose a small group rather than a crowd. (I agree totally!)
-Since they are highly sensitive, peacemakers do not handle criticism well, as they have tried to do their best (Ehhhhh...... i do try to take criticisms with a large spoonful of salt. Hahaha)
-Exactness is imperative in everything peacemakers do. (Yeah, when i keep asking and asking and asking what what what?? i know it drives people crazy at time)
-Often keeping their feelings to themselves. (I'm still trying to learn here to be more Expressive)
-Peacemakers are loyal to the leaders they support, and are excellent people to have on the team. (That's a nice thing to say)

Peacemakers in history include:
-Billy Graham
-Mother Teresa
-Henry Kissinger (a political scientist)

A bit more about my S-C type :

  • Steadiness:(Submission in Marston's time): People with High S styles scores want a steady pace, security, and do not like sudden change. Low S intensity scores are those who like change and variety. High S persons are calm, relaxed, patient, possessive, predictable, deliberate, stable, consistent, and tend to be unemotional and poker faced. People with Low S scores are described as restless, demonstrative, impatient, eager, or even impulsive.

  • Conscientious: (Compliance in Marston's time): Persons with High C styles adhere to rules, regulations, and structure. They like to do quality work and do it right the first time. High C people are careful, cautious, exacting, neat, systematic, diplomatic, accurate, tactful. Those with Low C scores challenge the rules and want independence and are described as self-willed, stubborn, opinionated, unsystematic, arbitrary, and careless with details.

One very Un-C trait of mine is untidiness! Hahahahahaha.

*** Post Entry***

I think it's beneficial for everyone to know what their personalities are. Every personality has their good and their bad. Not everyone is perfect.

Attending the first module on the DISC personality, if i hasn't really learnt anything ah, what i got out of this module is accepting my personality as what i am. =)

Anyway, before i end this entry, i wanna shout out to someone who's reading this...

I was tutoring my kiddo ytd, who was frustrated with schoolwork and stuff, so i was telling her about the course i went for. So i said something like this:

me: Under the DISC personality, I guess u are a 'S'.

kiddo : HUH?? (Confused look) U call me a Ass?? *emos*

me : (beats forehead) .........

So, kiddo, i know u are reading this now. Hope u love the funny collage and is having a good laugh. And read what are the traits S-type people have, and i guess u will see u are really quite S-type. LOL
