I’ve often receive emails in my inbox about how salaried workers like us can make use of the loooong weekends. But seriously, i didn’t really take much into account of such emails.
But this year is kinda different. Cos in my new role, i am not encouraged to carry over our annual leaves. So i will need to fully utilize my annual leave of 14 days in this year, and where after confirmation, i’ll carry forward another 3 days of annual leave (Oh that’s one perk of joining a company late in the year….)
Even though u may think: it’s really quite hard to finish using 14 days of annual leave, seriously. But then, having more leave balance is also good. =) Imagine my surprise when i was reading my daily mypaper, and saw on the 4th or 5th page on such a guide on how to maximize my annual leave!
From MYPAPER, 6th January 2010.
Wow!!! According to this Calendar, if you have only 12 days of annual leave, u can enjoy a few long weekends and looooong holidays and still have 2 days to carry over to the next year.
I, for one, will not be able to follow it accordingly to this schedule. Cos i do have other plans on utilizing my annual leave.
Right on my mind on when to take leave will really be Asia Conference and Church Growth International, which is happening on the 26th – 30th May 2010. So exciting!!!! And, yes, according to the Calendar, i will need to take 2 days of annual leave only! =)
I love MYPAPER! I read it every morning, and picked it up every morning right outside the Clementi MRT station (unless i reach the station after 8.05am). If u haven’t read any copies yet, pick it up at your nearest MRT station. Or if you are very environmentally friendly, you can read it free at www.mypaper.com.sg
