I finally succumbed to my desire, and got myself the 8GB Ipod Touch. Yes, this is the correct term. It’s not called I-Touch, as corrected by someone who’s a firm supporter of Mac.
Before the iPod, i had a few other MP3 players, including Creative. The one that i had, came in the form of a thumbdrive, and it was super duper easy to load songs, as it was simply plug-and-transfer. There wasn’t any leh-chey ness involved. And it served me well for about 1 year plus.
From there, i progress to PSP – a gaming machine. It was really fun to play with games on it, and watch videos on it. The quality is really great. Nothing less of such quality from Sony. And the voice quality is really good. But, with me leaving my ex-company, i gradually lost interest in the games, as i myself do not know how to get new games. And those around me on the trains who plays PSP…. are really young kiddos.
With the many friends among me who are really into iPhone, it was very surprising to many that i told them that i don’t desire owning one, because of my experience with a touch-screen phone. I own a Blackberry Curve, and i love it, and think that it’s the BESTEST phone that i’ve ever got!
And u know, i started running this year, and i aimed to do 2 runs. Right now, 3 runs are on the record and my first run will be in 2 months time. Rather than the initial decision to get a iPod Nano/shuffle, i decided on the iPod Touch. And i didn’t regret my decision.
I love it!
There are considerations like:
1) Huh!! So 麻烦!! Why must download i-Tunes????
But then, it’s really very easy to do that. I was totally surprised when it automatically converts my existing music files to i-Tunes!
2) Can i really run with it?
Oh yes. Someone blessed me with an armband. I just tried running with it, with plugging on my iPod Touch, and it’s not heavy. In fact, it’s so slim….. like Whisper Ultra-th……. (i shall not go there. But u get the drift)
3) Do i need so much storage?
Seriously, there are many forgettable songs out there that you won’t even need to listen. So just replace them with new songs. I bought an 8GB only. And with at least 200 songs on my iPod, i’ve only used about 1GB. But if u like more, why not. =)
4) Do i wanna be connected?
iPod is different from iPhone. The major and obvious difference is that you can’t be connected to the rest of the world 24/7. But, with a wireless connection, you can be connected too. Safari, eBuddy, FB… whenever u want, with a WIFI connection.
Is it worthy of an investment for my run? Yes, and it does more than just providing me music during the run. So many applications and games are awaiting me. =)
