Steamed Butter Cakes

And yes, i’m at it again, steaming cakes.

I dunno how many times, whenever i tell my mama that i’m gonna steam cakes, she will have the various reactions:

1) “I don’t even like to eat cakes! Why steam cakes?” (Oh mama, we don’t have an oven)

2) She will have a resigned look. Because my mama thinks that it’s only a 3-min fever that i have at the moment. But it seems that i’m still having the steaming-fever. Can’t blame the steams =P

I’m serious about this steaming thingy, ok. It’s been 2 months since i’ve started on it. And it will continue.

Anyway, i did a new steamed cake today. And yes, my Oreo steamed-cake entry hasn’t appeared…. Because i think that there will be a better Oreo cake coming up.

Today, i did 2 and 1/3 butter cakes. And oh-how-fragrant it is!!

Here it is!

A fren commented that they looked like Pau. But, their texture is comparable to a normal cake. U can see it from the picture.

And because i use the No 1 favorite Butter in Singapore, SCS er… i mean CSC, it tasted totally heavenly. And not too hard. Just soft, and not too sweet.

Can’t wait to let my colleagues try my latest creation tomorrow, they have been my guinea-pigs tasters since my very first steamed cakes, besides my family members. I’m hoping to hear better reviews tomorrow. =D

I shall steam more cakes. Watch out for more steamed cakes here. Until an oven comes along.

The next flavor on my list is Banana with nuts.

More experimenting coming up! :)
