My Viewer's Choice - Part A

Though i thought that i will take like another 2 more posts before this goes up, but think i should do myself a favor, and take this chance to de-stress myself a bit.

Really want to take the guys [Irene, Arthur, Royston, Ram, Scott, Siew Ling] for helping out with the packing. Se-rae-lous-ly, i wouldn't be able to do it on my own. If not for them, esp Irene, think i'm still struggling with the inventory list (it's so.... stupid to shed tears over the list, when it's ever changing, and all the rubbish banter about my 2.5 years to obtain my degree. It was really out of anguish, lah). Really ah, you can never underestimate ppl's powerful ways of hiding stuff. They only come out at the last few days to the shift! It makes me so confuse, and that i got disoriented.

I felt so Stressed, and yet i know that not matter how stress i feel, i HAVE to finish up the packing, even if i have to flood the whole place with my tears, i still have to FINISH packing up lah. But i guess, this is really Administration. And i know that i'm not that good after all. I know that in e9, it's going to be a steep learning curve. Guess an office shift that comes along doesn't happen at any time. I did learn something. The power of Microsoft Excel. Really amazing!

I guess, i have the STRESS look on my face this whole day. Because everyone looked at me and know that i'm stressed. I guess when everyone's looking for me, and i need not just 24 hours, i started to vent my stress. Sorry guys!!

Anyway, i want to blog some other happy things, esp things that i've promised. My viewers choice 2006. Initially i want to go onto an indepth ananlysis of all the 20 commercials, which i think i'm not really in the best of mood to do that, esp with DIAL-UP! I can't even view a decent ad properly.

My favorite ads in order:
1) VC12 MacDonald's
2) VC8 FedEx
3) VC6 Double A Paper
4) VC19 Starhub

VC12 MacDonald's.
This commercial started with a frugal guy who wanted to take a cab, but he needed to enter the CBD (which charges). And it was like 1 min before the ERP ceased. This commercial is funnier in chinese:

Man enters the cab.

Driver : Qu na li? (Going Where)

Man: Wu............ (while looking at the ERP)

Man continues to wu.... for about 1 min

Driver looked baffled.

Then the ERP gantry ceases operations

Man: ........ jie lu (Orh.... chard)

Wow. I really like this commercial. Pretty lame, and yet reflecting the Singaporean nature. It's my winner!! Relating to Mac, i think the other note-worthy commercial is the one with the baby on a swing. The baby smile when the swing went forward, and he sees the golden arc, and frowns when the swing went backward.

VC8 FedEx
FedEx also produces very good commercials. And it's not because e9 uses FedEx! This is the one where the delivery person in the van was stuck in a jam across a over-a-river bridge. Whereas the cars are honking away, this guy got down, and crossed the river, just like that. And when he had successfully crossed the bridge, it revealed some divers under the waters, supporting the guy in crossing of river with a small package.

Scene changes back, the divers were getting ready to go, when the delivery guy came back, with a large package. The divers' mouth swank open.

This is not the most recent FedEx commercial. The current one is this delivery man in the lift when it broke down, and the rescuers of the package had to do a Matrix-esp stunt to retrieve it for delivery, and forgot about rescuing those trapped in the lift.

VC6 Double A Paper
This one is pretty simple, yet it reminds. The story started with an Office Lady (OL) needing to print something from the copier. She inserts some paper, and it got jammed. Furious, the OL kicked the copier. The printer 'transformed' to a large metal robot and wanted to hit the OL... Scene change, OL holds the Double A Paper, very happy with herself.

Lamer-alert: I use Minolta in office, and don't really seem to see it transforming to a robot to hantam me. Reason is because.....

VC19 Starhub
The storyline for this is very simple. A guy who has an itchy butt, went around looking for trouble, with hilarious results. When he wanted to surprise his galfriend, he surprised her by hugging a bootylicious babe that he had invited. I like the lame part, ONLY.

You will have noticed that this is only part A. These are the commercials that i will rate tops. In part B, i will rate the 'not chosen' ones, and will try to determine what can be done to make it better. This will require creativity and imagination.
