I need a new phone

Initially i wanted to upload some photos that i have taken over the CNY season. It's really nice to see the relatives that you only see once a year, and that to show you all how all my nephew and nieces have grown. My gosh! You should have seen. Every year they really look different...

But, MY MOOD IS SPOILT! ALL THANKS TO THE O2 PHONE THAT IS ON THE LEFT!

Grrrrlllll.....

U see, i'm currently holding a Xphone IIm, which i've bought in August 2005. Initially i thought that it will really be cool to hold a phone that not many ppl have. Boy! I'm totally wrong!! For one, i know about another 3 ppl who holds the phone, and it's NOT COOL when the phone goes haywired, and you get real pissed trying to find a place to get it fixed!!

One of them i know holding a similar phone has already changed the phone. So so so.....

Since mid of last year, i have been experiencing some problems with my phone, even though i have never.. (well, i think i dropped it once, from like 20cm height.....), ok, NVM. The thing is, the phone loves to hang itself. That, i closed my eyes, and think that the phone is still a wonderful phone, because for one, it's liken to a PDA phone, and it's cool and stylo being white.

And the joystick is so 'sensitive' that i'm really amazed. And in recent times, it has the habit of hanging itself until i have to do a re-setting everytime it does that.

And when i want to upload pictures to my laptop today, it couldn't sync with my laptop! And it's the 2nd time it's happened!!! The previous time was in November or December last year.

Really very angry leh!!

I'm seriously thinking of getting rid of this nuisance phone once and for all! But of course, before that, i need to get a replacement first. Considering that i will need to use this phone for a minimum of 2 years before changing to the next one, i should get one that will last, and, yes, i've learnt my lesson: GET A COMMON BRAND WITH SERVICE CENTRES WITH EASY ACCESSIBILITY. I've given up trying to find a service centre for the cursed phone. And the most -_-''' thing i've heard: It's only worth $10 trade-in value with M1. To make it not so smooth for me to successfully change my phone, i need to pay like $100 more because i'm getting-close-but-not-so-close to my 21months with M1. Haiz.
But, let's move on..... Let's see what are the phones that have captured my attention for now. I might get one of those when i'm ready or when my plan has ended.
Must-have features: 3G, Camera with Data Cable, Bluetooth, can read Chinese; others are not that important though, but will be nice to have MP3 with a free SD memory card thrown in =)
Nokia
I truly believe that Nokia is the friendiest phone that anyone could have. Who could have known that a finnish brand could cause up such a stir here in Asia. And being friendly has its advantages, because service centres are everywhere!! Even pirated ones. Don't say u never know such. They are best with nokia phones, ok.
The models that i'm considering:
a) Nokia 6288, $158 from M1 on 2-year plan
This is recommended by Chien. Seems good. Looks like an enhanced-physically version of another Nokia model (i dun remember what model that is). Nice 3G, with all the functions that i heart: 3G, Camera, Bluetooth, Chinese.
b) Nokia 7390, $328 from M1 on 2-year plan
I have been drawn to the L'Amoure collection since it came out. And being a flip phone (had bad experience with them), i wasn't really keen... until i saw the 3 megapixel camera, and the powder pink color version..... Geez... i'm mad over pink.
Song Ericsson
I used to HATE ericsson phones. Because they are so old-fashioned, at that time. Using it to SMS ppl is the worst thing that could have ever happened to me. But seems that mergers do real good things to it. With the interception of Sony, they produce really good phones. And.... I think my perception of SE phones are improving day by day. One thing though: Is there a service centre for those SE phones?
Models that i'm looking at:
a) Sony Ericsson K800i at $258 with M1 2-year plan.
I have a few friends using it: Ivy, Chai, and even my cousin and cousin-in-law are using this phone. I get positive and yet negative feedback on this phone. But it has a really powerful built in camera at 3.2 megapixel; this is where Sony Cybershot comes in. Added functions: Mobile blogging....... hmmm, that quite enticing. Just one thing: with use, the covering for the Cybershot phone can get really loose..
b) Sony Ericsson Z610i at $198 on M1 2-year plan
This phone has 3 colors; black, pink and blue (limited edition). Personally i will like the pink one. But on closer look, it feels like a toy. Function wise, it meets what i wanted. But i don't want to carry a toy for 2 years.
c) Sony Ericsson K618i at $128 on M1 2-year plan
It's an old model, but basically, it has what i want in a phone. Not very aesthetically meeting what i want.
Samsung
My first ever phone is a CDMA SAMSUNG phone. And before 02, i got samsung. Well... not bad, but not very good either. But then it's Korean, i'm not really on the K-wave as yet. Function wise, not very friendly, because they may love hanging itself too.
Model that i'm looking at
a) Samsung Z400, $58 with M1 2 year plan
It's a phone that i quite gian. For one, it's only $158 (remember my $100 extra) and it's a slide phone.. never have that before. It has a mobile tracker, so touts will not dream of stealing it. But one BIG FAT MINUS POINT: NO CHINESE!! Boooooooooo!!
LG
Seem that LG phones are coming out at a snail's speed. I rarely see them, except in Korean dramas. But i hasn't got any feedback on their phones. Will probably be low in my list
Model that might stir my interest
a) LG U8500, $98 at M1 with 2 year plan
Hmmm.... it looks... common. But have rotating lens. Still, basic functions required are there. The one and only issue is: WHERE IS THE SERVICE CENTRE?!
Well, friends, if u have any of the phones above, or have any comments that can help me make my decision, feel free to comment. Erm, tag-board will come by soooon (Thank you Cherie :)) )
WHEN will i make my decision.... stay tuned to it. :))
Upcoming entry
-Academic entry. i have to start thinking about what i want ppl to say about me.... and yea, more nuggets of thought from Brian Tracy. Think this is starting to get a lil draggy. *yawns*
-Photos of my nephew and niece.... see how they have grown. And Zavier&Gerlynn VS Furby&Jerby anedote. THAT will depend if the stupid cable decides to work when i try out tomorrow.
