SIN-BKK 16th Jun 2008

12 hours after the Phat Thai, and a tuk-tuk ride...

Digressing, let me just talk a bit about this
Tuk-tuk car. If you have taken it more that 2 times, you would have realize these effects on you:
a) Your hair will never be the same as the one that u had when u boarded it.
b) Your legs need a stretch.
c) Dust in your face (hmmm.. not all the time. Not when it's raining)
d) Drenched to the skin (when it's raining)

My advise to these effects:
a) Either you gel it, or take a cab
b) You can walk
c) Just stay in your hotel room and not even step out. Then u wont' have dust in your face as like millions of others who walk in public.
d) When it rains, take the cab la!

So friends, i must say, that if u are in Bangkok, remember to take the tuk-tuk. If not, you won't be believed to have travelled to Bangkok.

The ride is pretty comfortable, except when it's bumpy. It's not as fast as a car, but it's relatively fast, and they dont' really go very sharply on bends. Oh, and on one of the rides, i realized that the Tuk-tuk is actually a modification of the scooter. It's like adding the carriage and the sheltering over a scooter and that's a tuk-tuk. While on a tuk-tuk, i realize that there's no steering wheel, just the handle that looks 100% suspicious like a motorbike/scooter navigator. Try it some time when u are there!!

Back to topic. As i was saying, the 3rd day, i wanted to attempt waking up early to eat the breakfast. But as like usual 2 days, we slept late. And i only woke up at 10.20am. Breakfast ends at 10.30am. And Well-travelled Friend was still sleeping. So, i ended up walking down alone, down to Indra Square, to try to look for McDonald's, which i didn't manage to find and didn't wanna navigate too inside lest i get lost.

And I found a
Dunkin Donuts store and stopped there. Yeah, there's no Dunkin Donuts in Singapore (and the nearest one is like up north at Larkin), and it's a good time to catch up on its taste once again.

Dunkin store

The Siam Square (Thailand) and Mochi Ring

Donuts and iced coffee = good combination

This Siam Square is quite special with 2 ends with 2 different fillings, namely the strawberry jam and the custard, which i honestly think is mixed with maple syrup and caramel (sinful but nice - for the first 10 bites, the 11th onwards is a bit 腻)

And i found a shop here that sells 12 pairs..... 12 PAIRS!!! Of earrings at 120 bahts. Which is like SGD 45cents per pair!!.

Lunch was at the Indian restaurant next to Baiyoke Boutique Hotel, and i must say that the food's really quite ok, though the service showed that they are from the Land of a Hundred (pun intended) Smiles.

Left to right = Potato Curry, Fish curry (forgot what was that small saucer in the center)

Garlic Naan

Garlic Naan + The 2 curries for condiments. *yum*

There wasn't much interesting thing to blog about until i came to Platinum Shopping Center. I came across a Pet clothing store. So thought that i could get something for my 2 babies. And i saw that rabbits wear doggie clothings... Yes. RABBITS. See for yourself.

Technically, they have the same kinda body shape. But they look kinda out of place with clothings huh?

Oh, and the street food, is wonderful. They also have Cup-corn in Bangkok.

Oh, i must really introduce this cup-corn. The way that it's been made is totally alike how we eat it in Singapore. They add the following ingredients:

a) Salt [same as us]
b) Butter [same as us, but much more]
c) Sugar
d) Condense milk

So the whole thing is like sweet and salty. A bit rojak. Tasty and special with the first half-cup. 2nd half told me that i'll prefer my salt and butter mix anyday.

It cost 20 baht. [SGD 90 cents]

This is Well-travelled Friend's prelude to supper-before-massage meal. It consist of maggi noodles, some prawn and vegetables, and lotsa spice and tasty. We bought it at a push cart near to the open-air massage place. Sibeh Shiok ah!

It cost 30 baht [SGD 1.35]

This was my dinner.

This is known to us as Yong Tau Hoo, they call it Yen Tao Foa. It comes in Kway Teow with some fish cake, veg, tau pok and quail egg. Quite different from what we have here.

*****
Before i end this entry, please take note...

Stay tune to my next entry; SIN-BKK 17th Jun 2008. We are close to landing. 2 more entries to go before this series of entries closes. Next entry will show u how a flood in Bangkok (a small one la) looked like, and our adventure back to home-sweet-home.

Why 2 more entries, you may ask.

Because the last one will be the prizes and the prices (you will really faint if i tell u the prices - Ladies and aunties, watch out for it... I see ur drool! I see ur drool! Wait lah, be patient)

Hati Hamba - Heart of A servant

The latest song that has touched my heart tremendously. And i have found it in 4 versions. It is Written by Sari Simorangkir.

Ku Tak Dapat Lupakan
Kebaikan Yang Ku T'rima
Pengorbanan-Mu Yang Mulia
Jadikan Ku Berharga

Kau Tulus Menerima
Aku Apa Adanya
Kekuatan Kasih-Mu Nyata
Memulihkan Hidupku
Kau Bukan Tuhan Yang Melihat Rupa
Kau Bukan Tuhan Yang Memandang Harta
Hati Hamba Yang S'lalu Kau Cari
Biar Kau Temukan Di Dalamku

S'lama Ku Hidup Ku Mau Menyembah-Mu
S'bab Engkau Sangat Berarti Bagiku

2) English
We sang it in church last week.

Standing In Awe Of Your Grace
Setting My Feet In Your Ways
Entering Into Your Presence

Oh..God I Stand Amazed

My Jesus, My Lord

I dunno if it has been sung in Chinese church yet. But here it is.

How this song impacts me:
It's all about having a heart of a servant, to serve the Most High God. At many a times, people can get tired of serving God. Maybe they have forgot the utmost reason for serving. But this song reminded me, that why i am still here in Church, why i am in ministry, is simply because i love Him, and i just want to serve His purpose.

That's all.

SIN-BKK 15th Jun 2008

After one night of stay at the Baiyoke Suite Hotel, Well-travelled Friend woke up at 10.30am and prepare to check out and move back to Baiyoke Boutique Hotel.

Considering the time that we slept the previous night, i guess it was legitimate that we sleep in. Imagine if we were to go with a package tour, we would have lost quite a bit of sleep and freedom that we currently have - Free and Easy.

While Well-travelled Friend was sleeping, i was exploring the surroundings of the hotel. And it appeared that there is also a balcony in the hotel room!! Wha... that makes it such a gigantic room to stay at.

The first 2 pictures on the top tier were pictures taken from the hotel room. The window panes are really dirty. The picture at the bottom is taken live from the balcony, without glass panes.

Oh The Baiyoke Sky Hotel is really impressive and is well deserving of the tallest building in Bangkok. Just look at the skyscraper tower.

The bottom of it, is usually, not so atas.

I'd figured that it is really one of the bestest places to stay at, in Bangkok. The moment you step out, yo will be surrounded by hoards of people and street stores, and u can bargain for the price *auntie-alert!!*.

We checked out of the hotel at 11.30am, and was at the lobby for a while. Well, there's some similarity (i think) between the 3 Baiyoke Series. They seem to have these chairs.

Eh yes, i'm refering to the square white chairs that has a patch of 'grass' growing in the center of it. Baiyoke Boutique has that too.

This is how the lobby looked like.

Simple and nice. But i can't say the same for the services.

From Baiyoke Suite Hotel, we walked over to Baiyoke Boutique Hotel. It was a very challenging time as between the 2 hotels, there's the stretch of outstreet. Had to resist the urge to stop and look for things to buy, amongst dragging a 9 kg luggage through a bustling street full of people.

But we finally reached Baiyoke Boutique Hotel.

As mentioned in the previous entry, its exterior doesn't match the interior. To describe the interior will be like a rectangular 9 storey building, and not-impressive looking walls. But it's a totally different story inside.

Classy!! *forgive the blurred picture*

And this is how the room looks like.

Very nice and bright

Big contrast from Baiyoke Suite right?

And i saw something else that i've contrasted during
Earth9's 10 Anniversary dinner about their toilets. And i think Baiyoke can give House's idea a run for its toilet ideas.

This should be much easier to identify which is which, right? As compared to this...

Anyway, we adjourned for lunch at the Foodcourt near to the hotel, at Indra Square Foodcourt.

The way they operate is quite different from Singapore. We have to buy their coupons then we can buy food.

I think they come in these denominations:
- 20 Baht in Blue
- 10 Baht in red
- 5 Baht in yellow
- 1 Baht in green

So if you have finished your food and u realize you have quite a bit of coupons left, you can refund them back for cash.

Practical though a bit 麻烦. And the coupons are in such denominations so that it allows the person to learn to count properly, Because, if you give a 20 Baht for a 12Baht drink, there's no change given. So, do u maths properly and allocate your coupon well.

Actually don't think that Bangkok's food court is not equal to us. In fact they are just like an ordinary foodcourt in Singapore, just that it's full of posters albeit in Thai.

drinks stall

A Japanese food stall in a foodcourt in Bangkok

This stall sells coconut-fishball noodles

From there, we decided to take a cab to go to MBK which is a shopping-center-that-you-must-go-la. But there was a massive jam, and the honest cab driver told us to take a train there.

The front of the ticket

The back of the ticket, with the whole train route

It's quite nostalgic to have the card on my hands, as it resembled the ones that our own MRT used, before the EZLink card came along.

The trains are really quite similar to the ones we have here, just that they are really more loud in terms of train advertisements.

The insides of the train looked like this - Check out their handles!!

So actually, the trains there are pretty similar to ours. But i think their's is more spacious and airy, with stronger and more comfortable aircon.

We were happily taking the train, where we were supposed to alight in 2 stops... and ended up we took the wrong direction, and had to take the other route back.

And we finally reached our station - National Stadium. (because it's next to the National Stadium)

MBK Shopping Center is on the right

Industrial buildings on the left

Special Mention of buildings that we'll never see in Singapore.

And i must say: MBK is really a good shopping center to be at. And i got like my bags there and a comfy pair of slippers. And this is where i realized that the AGBS really existed. It's not about my lame way of expressing the always great Bangkok Sale.

Children, repeat after me!!! It's the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale! And the sale is even more amazing in its own way. Our Great Singapore Sale started on 23rd May 2008 till hmmm July?? The Amazing Thailand Grand Sale is from June till August! Truly amazing!!

Mid-year is really THE bestest time to buy things at a great price!! =)

Anyway, MBK is a good place to shop, but i have to emphasize its a good place to buy things such as accessories, nice clothings. I'll call it a Semi-atas place. We didn't visit the atas place (Siam Paragon) at all.

Hmmm i think this should be Siam Paragon, the place with all the atas brands (i think it's something like our very own Paragon at Orchard), and Oh there's a Cinema (and it's not related to our very Golden Village in any way)

Before going for the open-air massage, we went for dinner and unexpectedly found something close to our hearts yet it was so far from us... A&W.

Awwwww..... don't you miss it???

Well, it was pretty disappointing, though we relish on the curly fries. The service wasn't really up to what we were expecting from "A land of a thousand smiles". Maybe it has divided itself unknowingly to become a hundred.

And we journeyed by cab to Pratunam Center where there was an open-air massage place. Well-travelled friend and i went for the 2 hour session, which started like 10.30pm. Yeah, we really slept late and spent the time out really really late.

Well, the 'sister' that massaged me was quite ok, just that maybe 'she's' pretty distracted with the bantering with other masseues. Though i did feel uncomfortable initially, but well, 'she's' actually quite alright.

Presenting my 萝卜腿

Despite it being open air, and in the public, but it's really the best massage that i've experienced. Maybe it's because it's right after a crazy day of walking and shopping and thus i felt it this way. But this is one leg massage i won't mind going for again. Though there were communication barriers between me and the 'sister', but 'she' understood the amount of strength to exert. If u are going to Bangkok some time, do drop by. Their rates are like 150 baht per hour. (we spent 300 baht each for the 2 hours massage).

And after the fulfilling massage, we went to eat Supper, somewhere opposite the massage place.

This is Phat Thai.

And yes, this is found on the streets. And, it's really tasty. Authentic Thai Phat Thai. (seafood fried kway teow)

Alright, to conclude this entry, please look forward to the next entry, titled SIN-BKK 16th Jun 2008.

It took me like 2 days to load all of the *gasp* 26 pictures into this entry, let alone with combining some pictures into one for better time saving and explanation of the pictures.

Till then!

Political Demonstrations in Bangkok

While on the way out to work, i was listening to the radio when it mentioned about the demonstration in Bangkok to be taking place today and tomorrow.

According to
Travelbite, it gave a warning to travellers to Bangkok.

Warning over demonstrations in Bangkok
Thursday, 19 Jun 2008 15:08

A large political demonstration planned for tomorrow (June 20th) in central Bangkok has prompted the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) to update its travel warning for Thailand.

The demonstration is to be held near Government House and travellers are warned to avoid this or any other large gathering of people, particularly after the violence that occurred at similar demonstrations in May.

The FCO reports that the Thai political situation remains uncertain despite democratic elections taking place earlier this year in February.

If you are planning a holiday in Thailand you should keep informed about the political and security situation. The FCO continues to advise against all but essential travel in Thailand's far south, including the provinces of Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and Songkhla.

A state of emergency exists in these provinces and bombings and shootings linked to the long-running insurgency are still frequent.

*****

It's a sad thing that this has to happen, but at least , everything was safe and peaceful while we were there last week.

SIN-BKK 14th Jun 2008

It's very exciting to be going for an overseas trip.

No matter even if it's to KL on a work trip (read it
[1] [2] [3] ) and travelling by the fastest and the most tiring way possible. I was totally blown over and excited about travelling out of Singapore.

My usually overseas indulgence is just crossing the causeway to JB and using a different currency.

This time, i've taken the airplane.

The last time i took the airplane was in 2002, where i took a 5 hours plane ride to Perth on British-Airways Qantas. So u can imagine my excitement about taking the plane again.

We were supposed to take the 1805h flight from Singapore to Bangkok via
a Budget Airline that is related to a fast-running strip-mammal. So that means missing our church service at 3.30pm, and reaching the airport by 4.30pm. So Well-travelled Friend and i checked in with quarter and/or half filled suitcases, and waited to board the plane. At that time, it was 5.30pm. There was already a relatively long string of passengers waiting to board the plane.

Half an hour went by.... and it was 5 mins before boarding time. No plane arrived, and the string of passengers got longer. Well-travelled Friend was pretty pissed and went to make a phone call.

Looks quiet huh? Actually there were a looong string of ppl behind me trying to look irritated to the ground crew.

I looked at the TV screen.

Time is 1810 on the screen. And the screen showed "Departure time: 1805h". What the....

If i didn't go and ask, i think the crew won't even inform us that there was a delay on the previous flight in, so the plane hasn't even appeared!

Time went by.... Well-travelled Friend started rattling within herself of the difference between the-one-we-are-taking and
a-better-budget-airline, and how it sucked. This was my first time on a budget plane, so i can't exactly say that i agree with her totally (btw, i do agree with her NOW).

6.45pm came. Suddenly the crew got busy and started to ursher everyone outdoors to board the plane. Nope, no connectors. We were at the Budget Terminal.

This is the plane that we took.

Pretty small and it sits 6 passengers at each row and the aisle between 3 seats on each side.

The plane departed Singapore at 7pm. Reached Bangkok at 8plus Bangkok time (Thailand is one hour behind Singapore).

Oh, if u hasn't been to Bangkok Airport (okok, i dunno what's the correct name), you would have been greeted with quite a lot of statues that looks like this.

And they are really tall statues, about 2 storeys high??

Once we exited the Airport, we took a cab to our hotel;
Baiyoke Boutique Hotel. And something unexpected happened.

We were told that the room allocated to us had a leaking pipe and is in the midst of repairs. And they will transfer us to
Baiyoke Suite Hotel.

I mean, i was really fine with it. But Well-travelled Friend didn't want to compromise on that, because she has already stayed at that particular hotel already. And somehow, she made it happen that we will be able to go back to stay at Baiyoke Boutique Hotel, yes, she bantered with the hotel manager. Power la, and that is really cool. Well-travelled Friend hasn't stayed in this new hotel yet, so she MUST want to stay there during this trip.

FYI, Baiyoke Boutique is really a baby version of the Baiyoke Hotels series because it's not even like tall. U know, Baiyoke Suite Hotel is at least 20 storeys high, and
Baiyoke Sky Hotel is like the tallest building in the whole of Bangkok, scaling at 88 storeys lor! Anyway Baiyoke Boutique is about 10-12 storeys high and doesn't look like a hotel at all on the outside. But, never be deceived. =)

Anyway, we ended up at Baiyoke Suite for the first night. Seriously, i think the space is really a bit too much for the 2 of us. Like we need a bedroom and a living room and 2(!!) television sets within a hotel room?!

The living room

The bedroom

The bedroom is actually quite large, abeit too large for only the 2 of us. The only drawback is that the room is actually quite dark; maybe it's the curtains and the green bedsheets. I dunno. But well, it's just a place to sleep after a day of shopping.

By the time we were done checking in, and putting down our bags, we left the hotel room for some shopping and massage at around 10.30pm Bangkok time. And yes, we travelled to and fro by Cab.

*****
Now, a quick tip: When u are in Bangkok and taking a cab, U should negotiate with the taxi-driver to on his taxi-meter. Because, they might just 砍菜头 without you knowing it. So remember, GO BY METER.

And FYI, the currency rate today, SGD Vs Thai Baht is
0.04156. So that means, for every 1 Thai Baht, it's only est 4 cents Sing dollar.

Next Entry: SIN-BKK 15th Jun 2008
Look out for the much anticipated Baiyoke Boutique Hotel pictures, some street food (and it's really much better than the food courts!), taking the MRT, the open air massage (best!!), and the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale (Previously known here as the Always Great Bangkok Sale).

Back from Bangkok

U never know if u have a shopping King/Queen leashed on the inside of you.

Until you go to Bangkok.

I can't call myself a shopping queen yet, I'm just a shopping Princess.

And, i haven't even covered close to half of all the shopping areas. I am pretty sure i'm gonna go again, someday.

Photoblog entries coming up.

Happy Anniversary!

Today's the day that i'm going to go to Bangkok for the first time.

Well, pretty excited, 'cept for the packing that i'm still halfway through. But seriously, do i need so much clothings? I am only bringing like 2 sets of clothings with a big luggage bag. And when i'm back, i guess my luggage may not even be enough to put my prizes from the shopping trip.

My mood was somewhat dampened by the news that my Flash Developer is not coming in.

But well, this trip is going to be so rejuvenating, and all the massages and all the shopping.

I'm just going to take pictures with my powerful 2mp camera-phone.

So, i foresee another wave of photoblog entries.

And today's the Special day for this blog. Because 4 years ago, this is where i started my blog, with my very first entry.

May there be many many more years of solid blogging. Not just about necessary things. But constructive things. AND socially responsible blogging.

Till Thursday!

About Food and Skincare

After work today, i decided to pop by to Bugis to look for some moisturizer to put on my face.

I've got a new hair cut yesterday, finally. And now, when ppl ask me if i did anything to my hair, i can finally say "YES I DID".

Well, i have to say that the picture doesn't really justify that i look better in my 'After' picture. Because, i was more heavily made-up (read: too much powder, early in the morning) in the 'Before' pictures.

I like my current hair !! U can see in the first picture, my hair ends are really really thin and i really hated it.

To celebrate my new hairdo, here's a narcissistic picture.

Done with the vomitting?!!!?!?!?! Hahahahaha....

Anyway, as long as i think i'm pretty, whatever is being said is passe.

As i was saying, my face is pretty dry. And despite having a fair complexion, i have very dry skin. And i'm a nightmare for beauty consultants because i don't do the cleanse-tone-moisturize, purely because i was lazy, not because of ignorance.

But then, i'm already in my late twenties, so it's high time that i must gambatte to maintain my skin. As the chinese saying goes : 世上只有懒女人, 没有丑女人。

So, before i get saggy skin, i better learn to Cleanse-tone-moisturize, before the others such as collagen and anti-aging. Wha, being a 美女is not an easy task at all ok. All the tai-tais are busy with their manicures and pedicures, and we think it's so relax....

I have a fetish for using a set of things that are of the same brand. Currently, my make up and cleanser are from Skinfood and would love to maintain that. So i went exploring in Bugis, though i know that i won't get anything , because there's no Skinfood in Bugis. And ended up, i had a wonderful dinner there.

I sat down at the newly-set up corner of shops, where i noticed a certain Fisherio Fish and Chips. And being a fish-lover, i was pretty enticed to try. The concept of that whole spread of shops are very open-spaced, but who cares. As long as i get good food. =)

This is the menu

Since it's a Fish and Chips shop, i sat down and ordered a Breaded Fish, and had an additional New England Chowder and drink to go with it.

And i must say, that the Fish has indeed, exceeded my expectation.

The bestest Fish & Chips i've ever eaten is in Perth Australia, and the closest that i can find here is Fish&Co. But i must say that Fisherio can give Fish&Co a run for its money, if it continues to maintain their standard.

The breaded fish is not too oily and the fries are thick and properly fried. I waited for like 15 mins for the fish to arrive. So, good food is worth the wait. Just that the Chowder can do a bit better (it tastes a bit bland for a start).

The pictures doesn't justify how good it is, but u can from the crowds that wait to sit at the cramp and small yellow tables, that the food is good.

With food this good, i spent less than $10 for this meal (with 20 cents to spare):
$6.90 for the Breaded Fish + Fries
$2.90 for the soup + Drink.

They are located at the Basement of Bugis, next to the mama-shop (now it looks more atas than pre-renovation). There's a pretty wide selection of fish, and chicken for you connisseurs if u wanna try it.

*****
As for this regime that i want to start keeping, i ended up 破功. I got my toner and moisturizer that is non-skinfood. It's quite disturbing to me.

I'm going to start using Olay's White Radience Intensive Whitening cream. It cost around $13 for 50ml. So, we shall see in 2 weeks if my skin gets better or not.

To me Olay (i think it was called Olan previously?) Moisturizer/oil(玉兰油) is one of the first Moisturizers that appeared in my growing years. It reigned together with Hazeline Snow (夏氏霖雪花膏), which is the one which i learnt to dabble on my face when i was in Primary 4. Though i discontinued it from Primary 5 onwards, i always know that it's popular with the likes of my aunties and grandmother.

Though there are other great contenders such as Neutrogena, Loreal, which carries really good moisturizers, but to me, where moisturizer is concerned, it's really back to basics.

If i saw Hazeline Snow, i would really think of buying it, but Olay caught my eye for the intensive Whitening, and i'm really looking to see if it can really work for me.

What i have been up to

Welcome to blog entry #501.

I had a discussion with my fren who is studying in USA about my next entry.

*****
Fren: So how.. what are u going to write on your next blog, it's still stuck at 500th post.

me: I might blog about Levi's 501 Jeans.
(Eh hem.. i'm trying to be lame here, but at 1.40am SG time, i guess i wasn't thinking straight)

Fren: What about the Jeans? Hmmm i need a pair of jeans.

me: Because it's a 501 Jeans

Fren: What's the deal with the jeans? I don't get it.

me: i need something really really interesting to blog about. Ya know, my latest entry is number 500. So i should really blog about Levis 501... because, u know.. after 500 is... 501.

Fren: Hahaha... got it... lame...

*****

Anyway, i hasn't really got much inspiration for what i wanna blog about esp with the AGBS is only like 6 days away from me. And i reckon that's gonna be a few big big big entries that will come up when i'm back. =)

Actually i do have things that i wanna blog about, but that one, i'll need more effort to have it drafted out.

So for now, i'm trying to pick up more HTML and CSS skills.

Esp CSS. I've totally ZERO knowledge on that and i wanna pick that up. All for the blog's benefits, to my readers, and to satisfy my thirst for more knowledge to enhance the aesthetics on my blog.
If i can't slim down, the next thing to be learnt is photoshop!!! Hahahahaha....

So i'm currently doing up the tutorials
here to try picking up CSS. So, i hope i can pick up fast enough.

Look out for it!

Blog Entry Number 500

Congratulate me.... Congratulate me!!! Thank you ah!

This is my #500 entry on jennacherylen.blogspot.com. :)

I believe not that many people can maintain a 500 reader-worthy entries within a same blog address.

And of course, my nice banner that you are viewing on the top of this page, is done by yours truly, 100% photoshop-free, is to celebrate a new milestone that i've been bringing this blog to.

In 2004, i started this blog, because i love to write, and it was something of a not-so-common-like-today phenomenen. Though there was certain danger of my blog entries to be expose to everyone on blogsphere, but well, i'm not a famous blogger. The ones who can access my site, are those with my msn addresses. But i'd think the possibililities of my msn contacts reading up my humble entries are less than 10%. So it's a good avenue for me to write what i like, what i feel, what i dislike. Today, these functions are still actively in place.

This blog carried me through a lot of things.
  • University Life and the forever-worrying exam results, and the day i wore the motar board and the regalia

  • My spiritual life; the ups and the downs

  • Change from one leader to my current leader (it's been 3 years... wow)

  • The process of getting my driving license, and how pissed i have been over no car to drive, due to gender bias

  • My auntie's death

  • RS' death

  • First job after graduation with a recruitment agency and all the struggles

  • Current job, and my nice, warm and helpful colleagues

  • Battling with financial situations

  • My birthdays gifts

  • Work trip in KL that ease my homesickness somewhat with blogging

  • .. and the list will keep on growing and growing

It's been great having my own blog, where i can share my thoughts, and where people who may be acquaintance, get to know me much better.

I love to holler over my blog. I'm the type that is more expressive in terms of writing and speaking. And i enjoy writing and thinking over every single entry. And i know that i will continue on blogging, which is what i love.

So, my dear blog. Happy 500th entry!

Movie Review:
Sex And The City the Movie

Though i've never had the HBO Channel before, and have never caught a single episode of SATC before, but i can totally understand the movie completely and the plot.

I, for one, didn't watch the
other movie because i didn't watch the first instalment. Usually for such shows, u will be lost if you didn't watch the first movie.

Movie summary: Beyond all the atas names that you will see in the movie, and some sexual scenes and profanities (it's an M18 show, so, you all under 18, are prohibited), this movie is really about friendship between 4 women (promoted from gals in the TV series), who grew old together, facing together issues in their lives, and just for being there for one another.

[spoiler] Though not everyone have a happy ending, but this movie entertains well... Esp with the phrase that was spoken: "I curse the day you were born", the movie-goers in our theatre clapped and cheered loudly when she said that.

Want to find out if you will clap and cheer when that scene is shown, and why? Go buy a movie ticket and watch it. If you are 17 and below, it's just too bad lah.

Available at all cinemas (and i mean,
Golden Village, Cathay Cineplex and Shaw Brothers ) near you.

It's worth your $10.50, i'd say.
